The SBN membership is made up of a diverse range of businesswomen and there are no restrictions on the number of members from any sector or profession who can join us, the more the merrier! That’s because at SBN we believe in collaboration over competition and we are committed to offering a welcoming, inclusive and dynamic environment for all our members. SBN holds two different monthly events, including a networking meeting with engaging talks given by local businesswomen and also an informal meeting and opportunity to meet over coffee at a local café in Stroud.

Members' meetings

We have a rolling programme of different styles of meetings

  1. Inspirational businesswomen: A keynote business speaker, usually a successful and inspirational businesswoman from in and around the Stroud district, sharing ideas and aspirations. Previous speakers have included Emily Gravestock, from the UK Space Agency, Roz Savage MBE, an extreme ocean rower, Melissa Briggs of Bee Solar, Anna Bonallack of Creative Sustainability, Sarah Edghill who is an accomplished writer and author, Penny Newton-Hurley of Commpassion Ltd and Rachael Austin, an award-winning garden designer from Austin Design Works.
  2. Local interest speaker: We’ve heard from David Fisk of Leaf & Ground, Chris Mitford-Slade from Cotswold Canal Trust, Alison Tarbuck from the Federation of Small Businesses.
  3. Networking: Helping members meet each other using structured and informal networking techniques, so people get to know each other better, and gain more confidence in networking generally.
  4. Skills & training sessions: These meetings will focus on sharing and developing new skills with our members and includes mini training sessions.

At each meeting, there is an opportunity for one member to give a Shout Out – it’s a chance to tell everyone about your business, share your expertise and for everyone to get to know you and your business.
